Migraines linked to increased heart disease risk in women
Conclusion This study shows a strong link between migraine and cardiovascular disease, extending the link already found between migraine and stroke. However, many questions remain. We don't know if the results are relevant to men who have migraines, as all the people in the study were women. We also don't know if the results apply to non-white populations, as most of the women in the study were white. Previous studies on stroke have shown that the group at highest risk is who get an "aura" before a migraine – sensation(s) that tells them the migraine is on its way. But this study did not ask people about aura...

Lipids, lipid-modifying drug target genes and migraine: a Mendelian randomization study
ConclusionIn the study, it was observed that among the 10 lipid-lowering drug targets investigated, LPL and HMGCR showed significant associations with migraine risk. These findings indicate that LPL and HMGCR have the potential to serve as candidate drug targets for the treatment or prevention of migraines.

The preventive effect of the combination of atorvastatin and nortriptyline in migraine-type headache: a randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial
CONCLUSION: In patients with migraine, prophylaxis with atorvastatin significantly improved the frequency of headache and QOL over 24 weeks compared with placebo with no effect on the intensity of headache. Statins seem to be a potential promising drug for prophylaxis of migraine headaches.PMID:35037597 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1981105

Discussion of the Evidence, Scope, Benefits and Risk. Please take a look at this discussion as I’m certain it will help answer some important questions. In addition, some very informative research about coenzyme Q10 can be found in the science section of our website. Coenzyme Q10 is one of the most fundamentally important nutritional supplements I recommend and use in my clinical practice not just for patients with heart disease, but to support brain health and general health as well. We generally recommend 100mg daily, and 200mg daily for those on statins, beta-blockers, or tricyclic antidepressants. The post CoQ10: Pow...

Infratentorial Microbleeds: Another Sign of Microangiopathy in Migraine Brief Reports
Conclusions— Migraine, notably without aura, is associated with infratentorial CMBs at older age. CMBs and infarcts co-occur more often in migraine than in controls. This supports the hypothesis of small-vessel involvement in migraine pathophysiology.
